Cruise Ship Rescues Distressed Boater Off Mexico Coast
A cruise ship recently came to the aid of a distressed boater, as the boater was suffering a maritime emergency in the waters off the coast of Mexico.
FoxNews.com reports that the Carnival Paradise cruise ship received the distress call from a boater whose vessel was taking on water approximately 13 miles off the coast of Cozumel.
The ship diverted briefly from its itinerary in order to assist the boater, the report says. The Paradise lowered a lifeboat into the water to retrieve the boater. The ship was on its way back to Tampa, Florida when it stopped to assist the boater.
“Carnival Paradise reversed course and lowered a rescue boat, brought the mariner onboard and provided food, water and medical treatment,” a Carnival spokesperson told Fox News in a statement.
