Cruise Ship Passengers Report Thick Smoke Aboard Carnival Sensation
Cruise ship passengers were surprised to see smoke billowing in the corridors of their ship yesterday, causing a panic.
Passengers aboard the 3,000 passenger Carnival Sensation reported seeing smoke aboard the ship, causing many to believe that a fire had broken out.
Local10.com reports that crew members wearing fire gear responded to the area where the smoke was detected, but did not find any fire. A passenger, Troy McCarty, told that news organization that “You couldn’t even see in front of you 6 (feet) when you exited the room, and it was hard to breathe.”
Carnival apologized to the travelers, but said that there had been no fire aboard the ship. The company reported that the smoke came from a housekeeping area, but was not a result of fire.
