Cruise Companies Pledge Aid to the Bahamas Following Hurricane Dorian
Hurricane Dorian slammed into the Bahamas over the weekend, killing dozens of people and destroying thousands of homes. As the international pledges to help the country pour in, some cruise companies have also stepped up.
In an NBC News report an official with the Celebrity Equinox cruise ship said that the ship’s crew is preparing 10,000 sandwiches for residents of Freeport, Bahamas. The ship is set to call on Freeport and passengers aboard the ship seemed broadly supportive of the efforts.
Beyond proud of the entire @CelebrityCruise land & sea-based teams along w #CelebrityEquinox guests, travel advisors & more who sprung to action to support our friends & family in the Bahamas. If we can give it, it’s being given. #BahamasStrong #ProudCEO https://t.co/j2cgTO9x9I
