Crew Member Found Dead on Ship That Was Screened for Coronavirus
Authorities have announced that earlier this week they found a cruise ship crew member dead. His death occurred aboard a ship that had previously been screened for a coronavirus outbreak.
Yahoo News reports that the man worked aboard the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas. He reportedly failed to report for his shift prompting a search.
When the Anthem returned to Bayonne, New Jersey 27 people, all of whom had traveled from mainland China, were isolated and screened for coronavirus. All of the passengers tested negative for the virus.
Meanwhile, passengers aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship are under mandatory quarantine until at least February 19, as nearly 70 of them have tested positive for coronavirus. Authorities have indicated that additional positive tests could result in an extension of the quarantine period.
