Construction Site Crash Kills One and Injures Another Near FIU Campus
A construction accident killed one person and injured another in North Miami on Monday.
Local10.com reports that the incident occurred at about 12:58 p.m. near Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 151st Street. Apparently, as the two male victims were working on the road a piece of heavy equipment fell over, killing one of the men and severely injuring the other.
First responders transported the surviving victim to a nearby hospital. Authorities have not provided an update as to the surviving victim’s medical condition.
Though the tragedy occurred near the Biscayne Bay Campus of Florida International University, administrators sent an email to students informing them that the incident is not related to the FIU community.
