Condo Building Authorities Were On Notice That the Building Suffered Dangerous Defects

A new report indicates that those responsible for the Florida condo tower that collapsed last week had been put on notice that the building suffered from dangerous defects.

CNN.com reports that the board president of the Champlain Towers South described that “the observable damage such as in the garage has gotten significantly worse since the initial inspection” in correspondence in April 2021.

The report says that the letter, written by Jean Wodnicki, indicated that “[t]he concrete deterioration is accelerating. The roof situation got much worse, so extensive roof repairs had to be incorporated,” among other assertions.

Victims of the collapse are already beginning to file lawsuits reports CNN. Currently, the confirmed death toll is 11 people, and over 100 more are unaccounted for.
