When the Coast Guard investigated they found Gonzales and another person in the vessel. The two are reportedly in good condition.
Cmdr. Eric Paré of the Coast Guard said that the Coast Guard is happy to have found Gonzales and that it “encourage[s] mariners file a float plan, telling someone where they are going and when they are returning, have a good working VHF radio, and to always wear a life jacket.”
