Witnesses apparently told officers with the Broward County Sheriff’s office that they saw the missing man go into the water with snorkeling gear including a flotation device with a flag attached. That was the last time that they saw the man.
Officials with BSO conducted a search including flying over the water with a helicopter and sending out search boats. Though they did not locate the victim they did find the flotation device and flag.
The report indicates that BSO authorities have at least temporarily stopped searching for the missing swimmer.
Officials have not identified the man.
