Authorities Medevac 19-Year-Old Woman After Crash involving School Bus
A serious crash involving a school bus Friday left one teenage woman hospitalized in serious condition.

WinkNews.com reports that the crash occurred at US-41 and E Twin Lakes Drive in Charlotte County as a school bus was traveling westbound on E Twin Lakes Drive. A silver Mitsubishi was traveling northbound on US-41, approaching the intersection with E Twin Lakes Drive, when the vehicle struck the rear of the bus as the bus traveled through the intersection.
A 19-year-old woman who was traveling in the Mitsubishi was seriously injured in the crash. Authorities classified her as a tauma alert and medically evacuated her from the scene of the crash by helicopter. The bus driver and the 15 students on the buys were uninjured in the crash.
The report says that police cited the bus driver for violation of the right of way from a stop sign.
