Audi Recalls Over 1 Million Automobiles Due to Fire Risk
German car maker Audi has announced a recall of over a million vehicles, citing potential problems with the automobiles’ coolant pumps.
According to Fortune.com, the company announced the recall of “1.2 million Audi cars and SUVs”, including:
- A4 (2013 to 2016)
- A5 (2013 to 2017)
- A6 (2012 to 2015)
- Q5 SUV (2013 to 2017)
The coolant pumps in the 2-liter turbocharged vehicles are susceptible to shorting in the presence of moisture or particles. These electrical shorts can cause dangerous fires. The Fortune.com article mentioned that such fires have been reported but did say how many.
If your vehicle falls within the recall parameters, you should contact Audi at (888) 237-2834 or by visiting the company’s website.
