A Florida Man Is Dead Following a Boating Crash in the Florida Keys
Local10.ocom reports that 59-year-old Key Largo resident Joseph Guenther was piloting a 21-foot boat in Blackwater Sound Saturday morning when the vessel suddenly crashed into a tree. Investigators believe that Guenther lost control of the boat shortly before the crash.
The crash left Guenther with a significant head injury and he passed away from his injuries on Sunday.
No one else was in the boat with Guenther at the time of the crash and no one else was reported injured.
Investigators with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are looking into the possibility that speed played a role in the crash. They are currently taking statements from witnesses and examining other evidence.
