10-Year-Old Killed in Hit-and-Run at Bus Stop
A young girl is dead following a hit-and-run crash in Fort Pierce, Florida on Thursday.
WSVN.com reports that the 10-year-old victim died after a vehicle struck her while she was walking toward her school bus at about 6:35 in the morning.
Authorities have identified the victim as Yaceny Berenice Rodriguez-Gonzalez. Gonzalez was reportedly crossing the street toward her school bus, which had its stop sign out and illuminated when the vehicle struck her reports WSVN.com.
The vehicle that struck Gonzalez did not stop and remain at the scene as is required by Florida law.
Gonzalez died after the first responders rushes her to the hospital.
Police believe that a white four-door vehicle may have been involved in the crash and may have sustained damage in the collision.
