More Information About Alaskan Tourist Who Died While Diving at Islamorada
Yesterday we blogged that a woman from Alaska died while diving off the coast of Islamorada on Friday. Now, details about the victim are beginning to surface.
WinkNews.com reports that the victim was 57-year-old Dr. Kimberly Jean Kilgore, a pediatrician from Juneau, Alaska. The report says that Kilgore was diving with a group in about 45 feet of water when she began having trouble. Once Kilgore returned to the surface she lost consciousness.

The boat crew performed CPR until first responders transported Kilgore to a local hospital. Medical personal at Mariners Hospital later pronounced Kilgore dead.
Authorities have still not released an explanation as to what went wrong while Kilgore was diving.
An autopsy is pending.
