The report says that Jean Marie is in a medically-induced coma at Jackson Memorial Hospital after contracting COVID-19 while undergoing surgery for the dog bites.
The dogs’ owner, Victor, says that he attempted to prevent the attack, but was unable to. “That’s when I started running, and I got the dogs, but it was already too late,” he says.
Jean Marie’s family members say that the dogs have bitten others before attacking Jean Marie. “The same animal attacked me in March,” says neighbor Leonard Knight.
