Man Medevaced from Cruise Ship off San Diego Coast
The U.S. Coast Guard evacuated a passenger from a cruise ship off the Sand Diego coast on Thursday.
The man was medevaced from the Norwegian Star after he began suffering from heart problems at about 9:30 a.m. yesterday.
The Coast Guard met the ship about 200 miles off the shore and loaded the man onto a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter at about 5:00 p,m. He was then transported to a local medical facility in stable condition.
This is at least the second time the Coast Guard medically evacuated someone from a cruise ship this week. Earlier in the week, an 80 year old woman was evacuated from a Carnival cruise ship off the coast of Savannah, Georgia, after injuring herself in a fall.
