Local Family’s Heavy Hearted Holidays After Man Dies at Sea
A South Florida family is celebrating the holidays with a heavy heart after one of their own died at sea earlier this month.
Local10.com reports that 36-year-old Reynier Marino was out test driving a boat he had recently sold when he went missing off the Miami coast. After a frantic search, Marino’s friend found his body at about 3 a.m. on November 12.
Images from the 32-foot boat on which Marino was traveling seem to indicate that it had been involved in some kind of collision, as the boat’s hull was heavily damaged.
Authorities found the boat just north of the Julia Tuttle Causeway and found Marino’s body in the same area three days later.
Multiple agencies joined in the search for Marino’s body including the U.S. Coast Guard and Miami-Dade Police Department and Fire Rescue.
