Hyundai Recalling Ioniq Model Vehicles for Fire Risk
Automaker Hyundai is recalling certain Ioniq vehicles due to a defect that could cause the vehicles to catch fire.
CarAndDriver.com reports that the recall is due to a defective power assembly that can overheat and potentially catch fire under the rear seat.

This is not the first time Hyundai has recalled the Ioniq model for this issue. The report indicates that in 2018 Hyundai recalled Ioniq model vehicles for the same defect.
Even after the repairs from the 2018 recall, vehicle fires have continued. There were at least four such fires within the previous year.
The report does not indicate whether any injuries resulted from the defect.
