Florida Highway Patrol car struck by reckless driver on I-95 in Jupiter
JUPITER, FL – Authorities said a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle was struck by a car on a highway in Jupiter Thursday morning.
According to WPTV, a reckless driver behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz had been reported in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95. When the FHP tried to stop the driver, the car crashed into the FHP patrol car in the area of Indiantown Road at about 7:30 a.m. Minor injuries to both drivers were reported in the crash.
The incident caused major delays for rush-hour motorists as all southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for the police investigation. The lanes were reopened by 11 a.m.
