Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Announce Fourth Boat Crash Victim Found
Authorities have now located all four passengers of the horrific boat crash that occurred near Government Cut on Saturday night, after the body of the fourth victim washed ashore today.
Authorities had previously identified a married couple,Chris and Elis Colgann of Broward County, as having been killed in the crash. Today, WSVN.com identified the third deceased victim as 28-year-old Jennifer Munoz Cadavid. Troy Forte, the fourth person in the boat, survived the crash but is reportedly in critical but stable condition.
Miamians are familiar with Government Cut as the location where Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez was killed in 2016, after a boat in which he was riding crashed into the jetty and capsized.
Though officials called for the jetty to be illuminated at night with lights, the U.S. Coast Guard determined that the existing markers were adequate.
