Elderly Woman Rescued by Coast Guard Suffered Head Injury during Cruise Ship Fall
The elderly woman who was medevaced from a cruise ship earlier this week is believed to have suffered a head injury during a fall.
The 80 year old passenger was evacuated from the Carnival Ecstasy cruise ship as the vessel sailed about 55 miles east of Savannah, Georgia, Military.com reports.
The Coast Guard scrambled a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from the Savannah Coast Guard station on January 27 in response to the emergency. The victim was taken to Memorial University Medical Center Savannah for further treatment.
The Coast Guard did not report that woman’s condition at the time of her rescue.
