News: Crash involving Porsche in Fort Lauderdale leaves 1 dead, 1 injured
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A car accident in Fort Lauderdale early Saturday left one person dead and another severely injured.
According to WSVN, the incident happened in the vicinity of NE Third Avenue and NE Sixth Street shortly after midnight.
Police say the driver of a Porsche coupe lost control while traveling southbound at a high speed on Third Avenue. The vehicle crashed into a concrete light pole and a parked car, then burst into flames.
Two witnesses at the scene managed to extricate one person from the vehicle, who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The other occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
