Abandoned Miami Gardens Building Becomes Scene of Tragic Falling Death
An abandoned Miami-area building has become the scene of a tragic death after a man apparently fell from an upper floor of the building.
Local10.com reports that the old Parkway West Regional Medical Center is one of the tallest buildings in the area of the Golden Glades exchange, and has been abandoned since 2002. Since its abandonment, the building has been the scene of graffiti artists and frequent trespassers. The building’s owners have reportedly attempted to prevent people from entering the building’s grounds over the years, but trespassers have always found their way back onto the property.
On Monday, a man who allegedly trespassed onto the building’s premises died from a fall. Police did not release many details relating to the details of the man’s death, but his death did provoke renewed questions about what the building’s owners should do to mitigate the risk.
In a statement to Local10, the owners of the building said:
“We want to express our deepest condolences to this young man’s family. We are in communication with the City of Miami Gardens and their police department. We will assist their investigation in any way we can.”
