Convicted Criminal Polluter Carnival Cruise Line Dumps Waste Water in Port Canaveral
Carnival Cruise Line, a convicted criminal polluter, has been caught discharging polluted water into Port Canaveral.
WESH reports that the company confirmed that it had “accidentally” discharged so-called greywater from the Carnival Elation as it was docked at Port Canaveral on December 2, 2019.
FoxNews.com reports that the ship was in preparation for a four-day Bahamas cruise when a valve failed and accidentally discharged the greywater into the sea.
In 2019 Carnival was fined $20 million on pollution-related charges stemming from a probation violation. The company was on probation after pleading guilty to felony charges for pollution.
