Cruise Passenger Dead after Falling Overboard from Symphony of the Seas
A cruise passenger has been reported dead after falling overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
The passenger, identified in published reports as an Australian man, was reportedly sailing between the Caribbean islands of St. Kitts and St. Thomas on Wednesday morning when ship authorities were alerted that someone had fallen overboard. The ship enacted its emergency protocol, doubling back to the victim’s last known location to conduct a search.
A passenger posted a video that purports to show the man’s body being retrieved from the sea during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

In a statement to ABC News, Royal Caribbean spokesman Owen Torres said “Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones for their loss, and our care team is providing support and assistance during this difficult time.”
The cause of the man’s falling from the ship is still under investigation.
