23-Year-Old Florida Resident Sent to Prison for Cruise Ship Sexual Assault
23-year-old Brian Holland was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison this week after he was found guilty of sexually abusing a woman aboard a cruise ship earlier this year.
Holland was sailing aboard the Carnival Elation cruise ship in February when he met the victim, a teenage woman who has a severe mental handicap. Holland reportedly touched the woman inappropriately, inserting his hand beneath her bathing suit while the two were in one of the ship’s hot tubs. After the incident the woman reported the assault to her guardian, who then reported it to cruise ship security.
Upon arriving back to port in Jacksonville Holland was arrested.
