Woman Medevaced from Carnival Ecstasy Cruise Ship After Fall Results in Head Injury
The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a woman from a cruise ship yesterday, after the woman suffered a head injury while aboard the ship.
The 80-year old victim was rescued from the Carnival Ecstasy cruise ship at about 9:15 p.m. yesterday as the vessel sailed about 55 miles east of the coast of Savannah, Georgia. She reportedly suffered a fall, resulting in a head injury which required urgent medical attention.
Live5news.com reports that the Coast Guard launched a MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter to retrieve the woman, who was then transported to a local medical facility.
