U.S. Coast Guard Responds After Barge Crashes into Marina in Jacksonville
Responding to what was originally reported as a “marine casualty”, the U.S. Coast Guard rushed to the scene of a maritime crash in Jacksonville Friday.
ActionNewsJax.com reports that the afternoon collision occurred when a barge crashed into the Dames Point Marina, striking a pier and four boats.

U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville and Station Mayport responded to the incident and found that though there was significant damage, they did not identify anyone hurt in the crash.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is assisting the boat owners affected by the crash and investigating its cause.
