Two Men Rescued Following Scaffolding Collapse
Two construction workers nearly suffered serious injuries today in a scaffolding collapse which left them dangling precariously high up on a Palmetto Bay building.
Local10.com reports that the pair were reported stranded at about 9:00 a.m. after the scaffolding on which they were working collapsed at the Palmetto Bay Village Center, 18001 Old Cutler Road. The news organization reports that the men had to be rescued by the Miami-Dade Fire Department, led by Maggie Castro, who rappelled down the side of the building to bring the men a life saving harness.
“You’re not really thinking about anything that you’re feeling at that moment,” Castro told Local 10, “You’re just doing the job that you know, that you trained to do.”
