Two Killed As Car Crashes Into Exposed Rebar In Back of Tractor Trailer
A man and woman are dead following a serious car crash Tuesday night involving a tractor-trailer that was transporting rebar.
ClickOrlando.com reports that the crash occurred at approximately 8:28 p.m. on I-75 south near U.S. Highway 27. The man was driving a van behind a tractor-trailer that was transporting rebar that was exposed out of the back of the trailer. The van ran into the rebar causing a crash that killed the driver of the van and one of the van’s passengers, an 80-year-old Pennsylvania woman. The other passenger, an 82-year-old man from Pennsylvania, was critically injured.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that all three victims were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the tragedy.
