Tragedy Strikes As One Person Dies in Christmas Day Boating Crash
Tragedy struck on Christmas day as one person was killed in a boating crash on Lake Harney, Florida.
Fox35Orlando.com reports that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) identified the victim as 39-year-old John Gebhardt. Gebhardt was boating the lake when his boat ran aground and struck a tree. Gebhardt was thrown from his boat, struck the tree, and wound up in the water.
Fox35Orlando.com interviewed a group that was fishing at the lake on Christmas and asked them about the tragedy. The group expressed their condolences to the victim’s family. “This time of year, you’re supposed to be celebrating with family and enjoying family and to lose a life on Christmas Day that’s very tragic and my heart and condolences go out to this family,” Charon Howard told the news outlet.
