Toyota Recalls 75,000 Vehicles Due to Child Seat Anchor Defect
Automaker Toyota is set to recall approximately 75,000 vehicles due to a defect that could result in a hazard for car seats.
KellyBlueBook.com reports that the recall comes due to a manufacturing error that could cause the upper child seat anchors to be improperly installed, allowing the seats to move during sudden braking or a crash.
The report says that the anchors “may not have been welded sufficiently and may not meet minimum strength requirements,” and says that Toyota recommends that drivers do not transport kids who use the car seats until a fix has been effectuated.
The report does not mention if any injuries have resulted from the defect.
