Tesla Recalls Hundreds of Thousands of Vehicles for Safety Defects
Automaker Tesla is recalling hundreds of thousands of vehicles in the United States and China, due to defects that could cause the vehicles to experience an increased probability of a crash.
Aljezeera.com reports that Tesla is recalling up to 356,309 Model 3 vehicles for a defect that could cause the rear-view cameras to not function properly. Tesla is also recalling up to 119,00 vehicles in the U.S. because of a front hood latch defect that could cause the hood to open unexpectedly.
The report indicates that the auto industry has been issuing frequent recalls, to the point that the callbacks have become practically routine. 2020 saw nearly 28 million vehicles recalled across 300 models, the report says.
The report did not indicate if there had been any injures associated with the Tesla defects.
