Passengers Sue Carnival – Claiming Injuries from Last Year’s Tilt Cruise
A group of passengers who were affected by last year’s “tilt cruise” are now suing the cruise company responsible.
Florida Today reports that three passengers who were aboard the Carnival cruise ship when it suddenly listed on its side on October 28, 2018, are suing the company, claiming injuries. One passenger, Susan Orgbon, says that she was thrown from her chair as the ship listed for approximately 60 seconds. Her fall injured her spine, while her husband injured his wrist trying to catch her. The plaintiffs are suing for over $75,000.
Carnival issued a statement after the incident, claiming that a mechanical malfunction caused the ship’s list and that passengers were never in any danger.
With such a severe list, lasting for so long, it seemed unlikely that no one would have been hurt.
