One Sibling Dead and Another Seriously Injured in Alva, Florida Crash
A serious car crash in Alva, Florida has left one teen dead and another in serious condition.
WinkNews.com reports that the crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. at Palm Beach Boulevard and Broadway Street when a 16-year-old girl was driving a sedan with her 14-year-old brother as a passenger. Florida Highway Patrol says the girl was making a left turn when she turned into the path of an oncoming truck, resulting in a serious crash.
The collision killed the 14-year-old male passenger of the sedan and left the driver in serious condition.
“There are siblings here that aren’t going to get their brother back. That’s heartbreaking, and there’s nothing any of us here can do to fix that at this point,” said Lt. Greg Bueno said of the tragedy.
Bueno added that avoiding these kinds of tragedies “is why we preach the same thing each and every day about being careful on the road, two eyes on the road, two hands on the wheel, and your mind on driving because this stuff is serious.”
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
