The reports states that the victim, Bradley Jelkren, was killed when the 12-foot boat was launched into the air at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, in the vicinity of S.R 417 bridge. A witness told the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission the boat was left overturned after going airborne, and did not seem to have anyone near it. The witness called 911 and reported the incident, and also hailed another boat to help.
Good Samaritans in the second boat found the victim and attempted to rescue him, but he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
