Norwegian Epic Collides with Moorings in Puerto Rico
A cruise ship crashed into moorings this week, shocking travelers and raising questions about cruise ship safety.
The Miami Herald reports that the 4,100 passenger Norwegian Epic crashed into a mooring in San Juan, Puerto Rico yesterday. The ship had not been schedule to dock at San Juan, but was diverted to Puerto Rico after suffering from mechanical difficulties.
Video of the collision was shared widely online.
The incident comes just a day after Carnival cruise passengers were alarmed to see to see smoke billowing within the corridor of their cruise ship. The smoke was so thick that some said they could not see six feet in front of them. But, despite an investigation, Carnival says that the smoke was not produced by a fire.
