News: Wrong-way crash on I-95 in NW Miami-Dade leaves 1 dead, 2 critically injured
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – A driver died after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in northwest Miami-Dade County Tuesday morning, according to WPLG.
The Florida State Patrol said the driver of an SUV was going south in the northbound express lanes of I-95 near the Golden Glades Interchange at about 6 a.m.
The SUV collided with another SUV that was going north. The impact caused the second vehicle to go over a concrete wall and fall 300 feet to the ground.
The second SUV went up in flames and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was listed in critical condition in the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
The wrong-way driver was also critically injured.
State troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
