News: Wrong-way crash in Hialeah Gardens leaves 3 dead, 1 injured
HIALEAH GARDENS, FL – A collision involving two vehicles in Hialeah Gardens Friday night left three people dead, NBC Miami reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol and local emergency crews responded to the scene on Okeechobee Road near Northwest 95th Street at about 7 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevy sedan was headed north on Okeechobee Road when the driver crossed the median and crashed into a southbound Nissan sedan head-on.
Both male drivers and a female passenger in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. A man who was a passenger in the Nissan was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. The identities of the victims were not released.
Authorities shut down Okeechobee Road at Northwest 95th Street for several hours while the crash scene was being cleared and processed. The fatal wreck remains under investigation.
