News: Worker dies in accident on the job at Fort Lauderdale high-rise
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A worker was killed in an accident Tuesday at a Fort Lauderdale high-rise condominium building, WSVN reports.
The incident happened at the Playa Del Mar at 39th Street and Galt Ocean Drive. Investigators said the man was on the job during ongoing repair work when he fell from the scaffolding he was on and fell 15 stories to his death.
The victim was not wearing proper safety equipment at the time, according to Fort Lauderdale firefighters.
The incident is under investigation by Fort Lauderdale police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
