News: Driver killed in multi-vehicle accident at Pompano Beach intersection
POMPANO BEACH, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was killed in a crash involving seven vehicles in Pompano Beach Saturday morning.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to the scene in the 2400 block of North Dixie Highway just before 10 a.m.
Investigators determined that the driver of a southbound Ford Explorer sideswiped a Chevrolet Silverado and then struck a Mitsubishi Outlander that was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection with East Copans Road.
The Outlander was pushed forward from the impact, causing a chain-reaction collision with four other cars stopped at the light.
The driver of the Outlander, Margaret Healy of Boca Raton, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The driver of the Explorer, Ronald Campbell, was hospitalized but no details were released on his condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
