News: Woman killed, 4 seriously injured in multi-vehicle accident on I-95 south
HOLLYWOOD, FL – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 in Broward County early Saturday morning, reports WPLG.
The Florida Highway Patrol said two vehicles had been involved in an earlier crash and were stopped on I-95 south near the exit for Sheridan Street in Hollywood at about 3:50 a.m.
The drivers and passengers from the two vehicles were standing outside the vehicles when another car that did not slow down crashed into one of the cars that was stopped. Investigators said the impact caused that vehicle to hit the pedestrians that were standing in front of it.
A 34-year-old woman died in the wreck while another woman and three men were seriously injured. None of the crash victims were immediately identified.
The southbound lanes of I-95 were shut down while the scene was being cleared, causing traffic delays through the area. The FHP is continuing its investigation into the incident.
