News: Woman fatally struck by driver at Pembroke Pines apartment complex
PEMBROKE PINES, FL – A woman was killed in a car accident at a Pembroke Pines apartment complex Saturday morning, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The incident occurred at the Villas at Pembroke Pines on Southwest 18th Street. Police said the driver of a Ford Mustang was pulling out of a parking space at the complex at about 6 a.m. when it hit the woman as she was walking past.
The victim was pinned under the car, and was pronounced dead after being transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. Her identity has not yet been released.
The 30-year-old driver of the Mustang stayed at the scene and was reported to have cooperated with investigators.
Lanes were shut down on Southwest 18th Street while police and emergency crews responded.
