News: Woman critically injured after being hit by pickup truck in Royal Palm Beach parking lot
ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL – A pedestrian accident in Palm Beach County Monday left an 84-year-old woman hospitalized.
According to WPTV, 84-year-old Josephine Scalzo of Wellington was walking through the parking lot of a Hobby Lobby store on State Road 7 when the incident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck was going through the lot and began turning into a parking lane when a side tire of the truck struck Scalzo, who was knocked to the ground. She was then run over by another of the truck’s tires. Scalzo was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.
Investigators said the pickup truck driver did not see Scalzo as she was walking through the lot. There was no immediate word on whether the driver would face charges.
