News: Tamarac woman dies after 2-vehicle collision on North Pine Island Road
TAMARAC, FL – The Broward Sheriff’s Office reports it is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Saturday afternoon in Tamarac.
Deputies responded to the scene in the 6900 block of North Pine Island Road after the incident was reported shortly before 3 p.m.
Investigators determined that 67-year-old Amy Leigh Garbati was driving a Nissan Kicks and making a left turn across the southbound lanes of North Pine Island Road when her vehicle was hit on the driver’s side by a southbound Nissan Altima. The impact sent the Kicks into the northbound lanes of the roadway, while the Altima ended up in a parking lot area.
Garbati, a Tamarac resident suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators do not believe excessive speed was a contributing factor in the wreck.
