News: Suspect arrested in deadly hit-and-run crash in southwest Miami-Dade
MIAMI, FL – Police say they have arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run death of a scooter rider in southwest Miami-Dade Wednesday morning, reports WPLG.
This is an update to a previous story.
The victim, 38-year-old Rolando Rodriguez, was struck and killed by a Honda Accord while riding a standing electric scooter as he crossed Old Dixie Highway at Southwest 296th Street at about 5:30 a.m.
The driver fled the scene after the crash, authorities said. According to an arrest report, investigators located the Accord at the home of 19-year-old Marcus Julian Pradere of Miami and found evidence linking it to the hit-and-run.
Pradere is charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in a death and tampering with physical evidence. He was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
