News: Stolen vehicle involved in fatal accident in Oakland Park
OAKLAND PARK, FL – Police say a stolen vehicle was involved in a fatal crash following a chase in Broward County on Sunday morning.
According to a report by WSVN, Fort Lauderdale police responded to a home on Mercedes Drive following a report of a burglary. Officers discovered that three vehicles had been stolen. They gave chase to one of the vehicles, a Mercedes sedan, after it was spotted on Oakland Park Boulevard.
Following a brief pursuit, the sedan was involved in a multi-vehicle crash at West Oakland Park Boulevard and NW Ninth Avenue at about 6 a.m.
One woman was killed in the wreck, while five other people were hospitalized. Police said two juveniles who fled from the scene were apprehended later and transported to a hospital.
The incident is under investigation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
