News: Single-vehicle accident near airport in Fort Lauderdale kills driver
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A portion of Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale was shut down following a deadly car accident early Monday morning.
NBC Miami reports the incident occurred in the area of Griffin Road and South Federal Highway, near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the scene at about 3 a.m. Rescuers were not able to save the driver. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not yet been publicly identified.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. The southbound lanes of Griffin Road were closed for the investigation.
