News: Sheriff’s office searching for driver who struck pedestrian on State Road 7 in Broward County
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a pedestrian last week.
In a news release, the BSO said deputies responded to the incident Sept. 15 near the 1800 block of South State Road 7 in unincorporated Central Broward shortly before 7:30 p.m.
Investigators determined that the victim was trying to cross the southbound lanes of the roadway when he was hit by a 2014 to 2017 white or silver Range Rover Sport. The driver fled the scene heading east at Southwest 19th Street and South State Road 7.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Detectives are now searching for the driver and the vehicle, which is believed to have front-end damage. Anyone with information was asked to call the Broward Sheriff’s Office or Broward Crime Stoppers.
