News: Police searching for vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run in Miramar
MIRAMAR, FL – Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred in Miramar on Monday afternoon.
NBC Miami reports authorities responded to the scene in the 17800 block of Miramar Parkway just before 1 p.m. Investigators determined that an Infiniti had gone off the road, hit several trees and caught fire. The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe that driver had been involved in a collision with another car that fled the scene. The second vehicle was thought to be a two-door, mint green Dodge Challenger with damage to the front passenger side.
A search is now underway for the second vehicle, and anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers.
Lanes were shut down for hours on Miramar Parkway west of 178th Avenue during the crash investigation.
