News: Police search for driver who fatally struck pedestrian in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Fort Lauderdale, NBC Miami reports.
The incident happened Sunday night along Davie Boulevard, where 21-year-old Everildo Ruiz-Mendez was struck and killed by a Dodge Caravan while walking across the street at about 10:15 p.m. The driver left the scene afterwards.
Police released surveillance video of the incident and the vehicle they are looking for, which was described as an older model white Dodge Caravan that should have front-end damage.
A $5,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers.
